Judgment on July 1, 2008:
As the community predicted, Experian did not reveal a public offer for Pricegrabber by the end of June, 2008. Judged at S$0. -- The Industry Standard
Original Prediction:
According to the Sunday Times (more: Reuters, paidContent) Experian has appointed Allen & Co. to find interested buyers for Pricegrabber, which Experian purchased three years ago for approximately $500 million.
As noted by The Times, "While revenues across Experian’s credit services fell 2% in the three months to December, underlying revenues at Pricegrabber rose 9%. The site claims to have 26m online visitors a month." So, while Pricegrabber seems healthy, it remains to be seen if Experian can sell the property at a profit.
This is a prediction that Experian will receive a public offer for Pricegrabber by the end of June, 2008.
