Chris Foresman over at Ars Technica has the story:
"A report by the Financial Times (registration required) cites unnamed executives who say that Apple is in talks with record labels to offer access to the entire iTunes music library for a lump sum price."
This is a prediction that Apple will announce an unlimited bundled iTunes option, using a lump sum payment (i.e. not a subscription), whether that sum is included in the price for a given device, or whether the sum is paid for separately outside of the device purchase (either scenario will serve as grounds for a favorable judement of this prediction). We are setting an expiry date of of January 9, 2009, which is the last day of MacWorld.
UPDATE: Saul Hansell of the NYT says that there is definitely some truth to this rumor. . .

I had to say it is one good news, but some times I think iPods or iPhones should be more open, sometimes users must use one third software (like ipod access) to work with iPods and iPhones, it is bad.
Unlimited music service is coming to mobiles. This will increase pressure of Apple to reconsider its current plan.
